Roti/Chapati
Roti/Chapati Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp oil
1 cup water
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and oil.
Slowly add in water while mixing until the dough comes together.
Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth.
Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into thin circles.
Heat a tawa or non-stick pan over medium heat and place the rolled-out dough onto it.
Cook for a minute on one side until it starts to puff up, then flip and cook for another minute.
Serve hot with your favorite curry.
Naan
Naan Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Add in the yogurt, milk, and melted butter, and mix until the dough comes together.
Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C).
Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into oval shapes.
Place the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
Bake for 5-7 minutes, until the naan starts to puff up and turn golden brown.
Serve hot with your favorite curry.
